Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to support large-scale data center construction projects. This role is ideal for professionals with extensive mechanical estimating experience and a solid understanding of hyperscale data center builds, with a hybrid work arrangement.

You will communicate with clients and project teams, review drawings, develop cost projections, and contribute to procurement and value engineering to optimize costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of mechanical estimating experience on large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of data center mechanical systems and costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical estimates for large-scale data center projects.
• Review drawings and specs to develop accurate cost projections.
• Develop and maintain cost databases and benchmarking for mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with project teams to align scope, budget, and schedule.
• Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to reduce costs.
• Assist in bid evaluations and cost analyses.
• Prepare cost reports and present findings to teams.
• Monitor market trends and pricing in mechanical systems.
• Assist in procurement strategies and contractor selection.
• Ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
• Perform quantity take-offs and validate sub-contractor proposals.
• Participate in design reviews for cost and constructability.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through materials/methods.
• Maintain vendor relationships for pricing and availability.
• SOX control responsibilities may apply.
