Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Camden, NJ, is seeking a Senior Member, Mechanical Engineering Staff (SMES) to lead design, analysis, and testing of electro-mechanical systems.

You will create design specifications, perform FEA, and support multi-project development. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of related experience and US citizenship or residency with ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 6+ years of related experience or 10 years without degree preferred.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident with ability to obtain US clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and evaluate mechanical/electro-mechanical components and systems using 3D modeling tools (CREO).
• Prepare design specifications, analyses, drawings, and documentation; interpret customer requirements.
• Perform FEA (e.g., ANSYS) to assess structural, thermal, and vibration performance.
• Develop prototypes using rapid fabrication methods (3D printing, laser cutting).
• Support product data management via PLM tools (Windchill) and maintain baselines and ECNs.
