Job summary

EDG Inc. in Columbus, OH seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Practice Leader to guide the Mechanical Engineering practice across industrial sectors.

You will lead technical direction, staff development, and client engagements while ensuring high-quality project execution. The role requires PE credentials, 10+ years in mechanical engineering, and 8+ years leading multidisciplinary projects, with a focus on industrial, power, and process facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Ten or more years of progressive mechanical engineering experience.
• Eight or more years leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Experience serving industrial, power generation, utility, transmission and distribution, oil and gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, or bulk material handling clients.
• Experience supervising and mentoring engineering staff; both new hires and inherited team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering practice within the Columbus business unit.
• Establish discipline standards, engineering procedures, design guides, and QA processes.
• Develop strategic initiatives to expand mechanical engineering services across targeted sectors.
• Collaborate with leadership on business planning, staffing, and market expansion.
• Lead technical oversight for projects involving rotating equipment, piping, pressure systems, and bulk material handling.
• Serve as senior technical authority for mechanical engineering projects and provide design leadership.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure project delivery and compliance.
• Support business development and client relationship management.
