Job summary

Persimmon Technologies is seeking a Manager of Mechanical Engineering to lead a team designing high-performance precision robotic systems. You will drive NPI and sustaining engineering while coordinating with electrical, controls, quality, and operations to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical product development experience, preferably with precision electromechanical equipment or robotics.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineers or engineering programs.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering and machine design.
• Extensive experience designing precision assemblies and mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers responsible for NPI and sustaining engineering.
• Establish technical direction, priorities, schedules, and deliverables for the mechanical organization.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure designs meet requirements and standards.
• Lead mechanical development of precision robotic mechanisms from concept through production.
• Guide engineers in calculations, modeling, tolerance analysis, FEA, and testing.
• Investigate field/manufacturing issues using root-cause analysis.
• Provide broad technical leadership in ME topics: precision mechanisms, tolerance, thermal/structural considerations, design for manufacturability, reliability, GD&T.
