Job summary

CycloKinetics seeks a Senior Manager of Mechanical Engineering to lead the mechanical engineering organization for scale-up from R&D to commercial operations. You will oversee equipment design, piping, structures, skids, tanks, and utilities while partnering with R&D, controls, operations, and vendors to deliver first-of-its-kind biorefinery systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 20+ years of progressive engineering experience in industrial/chemical/energy environments.
• 7+ years leading engineers, technical teams, or multidisciplinary project teams.
• Demonstrated success designing, scaling, or operating complex mechanical systems.
• Experience translating R&D concepts into engineered systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering team for equipment design, piping, and structural integration.
• Translate pilot-scale concepts into practical systems for larger-scale operation.
• Oversee design, specification, and implementation of custom equipment and vessels.
• Collaborate with controls engineering to integrate equipment with instrumentation and control systems.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional collaboration across departments.
