Steven Douglas Corp. (SDC) seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our Mechanical Engineering team and own the department's people, performance, standards, and execution.

This hands-on leadership role requires designing custom automation, developing strong engineers, and creating scalable processes to keep growing projects moving. You will recruit, mentor, and evaluate engineers, drive standardization, oversee design reviews, and collaborate across projects with other departments to meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering/machine design experience.
• 5+ years of leading or managing engineers.
• Strong knowledge of machine design principles and tolerancing.
• Advanced experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop engineers to boost performance.
• Plan resource allocation across projects based on priorities and schedules.
• Establish and improve engineering standards and practices.
• Provide technical leadership for machine designs.
• Collaborate with other departments and lead design reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support design reviews and field startup activities.
