Colliers Engineering & Design in Seattle, WA is seeking a Department Manager for our Buildings Engineering Services team. You will lead a group of mechanical engineers, guide project delivery, and shape the strategic direction of the department.

The role emphasizes client collaboration, quality control, and profitable project management, with opportunities to mentor staff, develop marketing programs, and coordinate cross-discipline efforts across municipal, commercial, and educational projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer license required or reciprocity with other states.
• Demonstrated leadership across large groups of employees.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for communications.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and manages operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.
• Establishes effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for assigned team.
• Provides technical and management leadership to the assigned team.
• Develops marketing program in conjunction with discipline goals.
• Advises and assists professionals in other groups when expert knowledge is required.
• Manages activities so an adequate profit is earned on all projects.
• Reviews monthly productivity and labor hour utilization-rates, reports and adjusts as needed.
• Assigns projects to staff and schedules work.
• Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.
