Job summary

Carollo Engineers is seeking a Professional Building Mechanical Engineer in Phoenix to lead HVAC design for water and wastewater facilities. You will develop plans, specs, and control schematics while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include cost estimates, client interfaces, and ensuring compliance with NFPA 820 and energy codes. Travel to sites for observations and reviews is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 6-12 years of experience with HVAC equipment, odor control, fire protection for water/wastewater facilities.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems design for water and wastewater facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 820 and energy codes.
• Ability to read P&IDs and develop control schematics.
• Experience with multi-discipline project teams and public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Produce contract documents including plans and specs.
• Perform heating/cooling and system sizing calculations.
• Develops process and control schematics.
• Mentor entry-level mechanical engineers.
• Manage HVAC and odor control portions of projects.
• Interface with clients and project teams.
• Travel and site visits during construction and operation.
