Job summary

KLA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design a next‑generation ultra‑precision stage for high‑vacuum eBeam inspection systems. You will drive stage design from concept through validation, partnering with controls, systems, and manufacturing teams to achieve nanometer‑level stability and low noise.

Responsibilities include CFD/FEA analysis, tooling development, and integration with subsystem levels.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with experience in motion systems, precision mechanics, or mechatronics.
• Proficiency in Creo/SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD, with multiple years of experience and in structural, thermal, and vibration analysis.
• DFM across machining, sheet metal, and castings; working knowledge of Python or MATLAB for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mechanical architecture of high‑vacuum, multi‑DOF motion stages.
• Select vacuum‑compatible materials and hardware with low outgassing and cleanability.
• Integrate metrology & feedback using laser interferometers and high‑res encoders.
• Perform FEA for structural, thermal, and vibration analysis and tolerance stack‑ups.
• Collaborate with controls, systems, and manufacturing engineers to improve performance and manufacturability.
• Engage suppliers for precision parts, including vendor qualification and issue resolution.
