Job summary

Mojave Energy Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Testing to design, develop, and validate HVAC systems and subsystems.

You will lead psychrometric testing, model validations, and lab experiments, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams on timelines and performance goals. The role demands 5+ years in mechanical engineering, strong thermodynamics knowledge, and hands-on lab experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or adjacent field.
• >5 years' experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent post-BS.
• Experience testing hardware and validating/developing models with test data.
• Experience with unit-level performance testing of HVAC or similar thermal equipment, including test planning, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Strong analytic and programming (python) skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee construction of a psychrometric chamber; manage the chamber, test scheduling, operation, calibration, and maintenance.
• Develop test plans and execute them on end-of-line and prototype units or subsystems using the psychrometric chamber for validation.
• Manage a project across multiple stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Contribute to design reviews internally and externally with suppliers.
• Provide performance input and design experiments to support product development.
