Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of rugged military and commercial hardware products, including robotics and maritime systems. You will act as a technical lead and contribute to design documentation for production.

The role requires experience across the product lifecycle, proficiency in CREO/SolidWorks, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
5–12 years' mechanical design experience across a product lifecycle.
Experience with metal fabrication and electromechanical hardware.
Proficiency in 3-D CAD (CREO and/or SolidWorks).
Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Eligibility to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on mechanical design support for DOD pre-production and production programs.
Electromechanical design, layout, and modeling of robotic systems and military hardware.
Lead or participate in Engineering Change processes, update drawings, and approve designs.
Design hardware using 3D CAD modeling tools; interface with vendors and customers.
Oversee tasks assigned to other engineers and perform system-level tolerance analysis.
Assist in cost estimation and contribute to formal design reviews.
