Job summary

QinetiQ US seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and maintenance of rugged military and commercial hardware. You will oversee electro-mechanical packaging, evaluate design changes, and coordinate with customers and vendors from our Franklin, MA facility.

The role requires deep experience in mechanical design and FEM analysis, with DoD program exposure. Candidates should be capable of leading teams and ensuring manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

• 10–20 years of mechanical design experience required.
• Direct project engineering or technical lead experience requested.
• Experience with DoD programs and documentation changes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Electromechanical design and packaging of hardware assemblies.
• Perform FEM analysis and validate designs.
• Lead design tasks and oversee documentation and fabrication drawings.
• Interface with customers and vendors on engineering aspects.
• Support both Devens and Franklin facilities.
• Obtain and maintain DoD security clearance if required.
