Job summary

Kerr, a Kerr Operating Company under Envista, seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead product sustainment and design improvements for enhanced performance and manufacturability in Pomona, CA. You will provide technical support, maintain design/test docs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include leading sustaining projects, collaborating with manufacturing, QA, and customer support, and supporting new product development as needed. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with 4+ years experience, or HS Diploma/GED with 6+ years experience
• Experience with project management systems (e.g. Microsoft Project, Workfront)
• Must reside within a commutable distance to Pomona, CA; not hybrid or remote

Responsibilities

• Lead sustaining projects by identifying design enhancement opportunities and implementing changes to optimize functionality and manufacturability
• Provide technical support for current product line to improve performance and reliability
• Maintain detailed documentation of design changes, test results, and product specifications
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and customer support to ensure seamless product sustainment
• Ensure modifications comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Conduct testing and validation of design changes to meet performance and safety criteria
• Understand current manufacturing processes
• Support new product development when needed
• Participate in Kaizen and 5S, Problem Solving Process, Value Stream Mapping
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives
• Adhere to safety and quality policies
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
