Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead structural design and analysis for solid rocket motors (SRM). You will direct design, development, integration and verification of critical SRM hardware across motor cases, nozzles, insulation and joints.

The role requires extensive structural modeling/analysis, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree and 8–10 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Leads structural design, development, integration and verification of SRM hardware.
• Provides modeling/analysis for motor components (cases, nozzles, insulation, joints).
• Interprets blueprints, drawings, and reports; resolves technical issues.
