KPFF Special Projects Division in Seattle and Tacoma seeks a Mechanical Engineer with 6+ years of experience to support heavy civil, structural, and machine design projects for clients nationwide.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project teams, design for dynamic loads, and hands-on engineering from concept through delivery; PE registration is preferred and a strong commitment to learning is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
• Experience in project engineering and project management.
• Design for dynamic loads and fatigue.
• Familiar with finite element analysis (FEA).

Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering and management support.
• Design weldments and structures for dynamic loads.
• Perform stress analysis, including FEA.
• Machine design including shafts and gears.
• Support hydraulics, pumps, and controls.
• Collaborate with project teams and clients.
