Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Division in Seattle, WA is seeking a Civil Engineer to join a growing team focused on heavy civil and industrial projects. You’ll contribute to site and land development, design tasks, and project management while delivering exceptional client service.

With a PE in WA (or reciprocity) and 5+ years of experience, you’ll collaborate across disciplines, mentor teammates, and help manage budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time experience in relevant civil/site development engineering design with a PE in the State of Washington or ability to get reciprocity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
• Proficiency and experience in AutoCAD for construction document creation.
• Preferred familiarity with Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven capability to work dynamically and effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for developing design and project management skills.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and exceeding expectations.

Responsibilities

• Civil Design and Development: Apply engineering expertise to diverse projects, collaborating with teams to devise solutions in grading, paving, storm drains, sewer, and water for land development.
• Contribute to waterfront and industrial development projects, delivering successful outcomes.
• Learn to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies for project success.
• Gain experience in regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle, including permitting requirements.
• Enhance skills in identifying and solving challenges using traditional and modern engineering techniques.
• Assist in managing project tasks, coordinating timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Mentor team members to support their professional growth and development.
• Client Engagement and Exceptional Service: Foster strong client relationships with clear communication and customized solutions.
