SpaceX in Bastrop, Texas, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Solar Cell Factory. You will design, build, and optimize mechanical and automation systems for solar cell manufacturing equipment and material handling.

You will own subsystems from concept to high-volume production and lead improvements that maximize uptime and efficiency. You will perform FMEA, reliability modeling, and stress testing, and you will develop production-line equipment, robot end-effectors, and control

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required.
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
• 5+ years of professional mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing experience.

Responsabilités

• Own electronics manufacturing subsystems and equipment from conceptual design through high-volume production and automation ramp.
• Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization.
• Test and iterate on products using FMEA, reliability modeling, and stress testing to predict and mitigate failures and maximize OE
• Design and develop production lines for your product, including robot end-effector design, process development, control system design, and automation programming.
• Uptime optimization: monitor equipment uptime and implement preventive measures to maximize operational availability.
• Evaluate and select equipment suppliers; oversee installation, commissioning, and ongoing performance to achieve target rate, yield and uptime.
