Job summary

Boston Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA. The role focuses on designing and developing innovative products from concept through production, leveraging Creo/SolidWorks and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll work on high-precision electromechanical systems and rapid prototyping, with opportunities across robotics, digital solutions, and defense technologies. This position is full-time in-office in Waltham.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of mechanical engineering experience focused on new product development.
• Experience designing high-precision electromechanical systems.
• Proficient with rapid prototyping and prototype development.
• Experience designing products for underwater or marine environments.
• Experience integrating mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
• Strong knowledge of DFM, DFA, and cost/reliability considerations.
• SBIR familiarity is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering design and development from concept through production.
• Design, build, and test proof-of-concept models and production-ready designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers.
• Develop detailed mechanical designs and documentation using Creo or SolidWorks.
• Support proposals, technical estimates, and customer engagements.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and best practices.
