Job summary

Eka Robotics in Boston is seeking a senior Mechanical Design Engineer to advance robotic hands and actuation modules.

You will lead the mechanical design, select actuators, bearings, sensors, and materials; build physical prototypes with 3D printing, CNC machining, and other fabrication methods; define testing plans; and iterate on designs based on results in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing and building robotic systems.
• Experience with robotic hands preferred.
• Proficient CAD: Onshape or SolidWorks.
• Experience with actuators and gear trains.
• Strong tolerance and precision assembly knowledge.
• Capability to run basic FEA simulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of robotic hands and actuation modules.
• Select key components including actuators, bearings, sensors, and structural materials.
• Build physical prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and other fabrication methods.
• Define and execute testing plans to evaluate performance against requirements.
