Job summary

Pacific Fusion Corporation seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialized in pulsed power to design, build, and operate high-energy systems. You will lead cross‑disciplinary work across mechanical, electrical, and plasma physics teams, driving experiments, diagnostics, and data-driven improvements.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a mechanical or physics background, and a hands-on approach to prototype development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience designing complex systems.
• Experience designing, developing, testing and building prototype mechanical/electrical systems.
• Strong background in electronics design, control systems, and PLC software development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate pulsed power systems (high-voltage and high-current) and control systems.
• Operate pulsed power systems during testing and data acquisition campaigns.
• Ensure safe, reliable operation of high-energy systems per safety protocols.
• Acquire, process, and analyze data from pulsed power experiments to evaluate performance.
• Develop tools and workflows for data collection, visualization, and interpretation.
