Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Lead to oversee projects across commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. You will work under a Principal engineer, directing teams, performing design calculations, and ensuring quality while coordinating with other disciplines nationwide.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of mechanical design experience, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in a technical context.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and cross-discipline teams to deliver design work on time and within budget.
• Provide input to proposals and support Business Development with technical insights.
• Collaborate with licensed professionals in design, assessment, and construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
• Perform mechanical design calculations and field assessments (ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, rooftops).
• Coordinate multiple projects and prepare client reports and scopes-of-work within agreed budgets.
• Maintain client relationships and communicate project status and risks.
• Support presentations for business development as needed.
