Job summary

KFI Engineers in Minnesota seeks an accomplished Senior Project Manager or Director, Commercial, to lead complex engineering projects and mentor teams across multiple business units. The role emphasizes HVAC, plumbing, energy systems, and compliance with codes and standards.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 15+ years of experience, and a P.E. license, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience.
• P.E. license required.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices.
• Represent the company in a professional matter.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Knowledge of MS Office.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Travel: May include up to 15% domestic travel.
• Master's degree or higher in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience with advanced engineering design, analysis, and project management.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing large-scale engineering projects.
• Experience with advanced engineering software tools and simulation platforms.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and innovation trends within the professional, scientific, and technical services sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex engineering projects and teams.
• Provide expert-level analysis related to HVAC, plumbing piping, energy systems and mechanical infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Meet with clients to support major decisions and project goals.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, reports, specifications and deliverables.
• Develop and mentor staff to maintain technical expertise.
