Job summary

Nortek Air Solutions is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Oregon to lead conceptualization, design, and development of new HVAC products. You will drive product development from concept to production, ensuring designs meet performance and quality standards.

You will review drawings and calculations, apply material and manufacturing knowledge, and stay current with industry trends to continuously improve processes. Occasional NA travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience in product design and development.
• Experience using simulation and validation tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Strong engineering aptitude with a focus on mechanical system design in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Engineering 3D CAD software.
• Ability to review and approve technical drawings and engineering calculations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex design challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct design simulations, prototyping, testing, analyses, and team reviews to ensure designs meet technical, performance, and quality standards.
• Drive new product development initiatives from concept through production.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into innovative design solutions.
• Apply technical expertise and a strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes to optimize product designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost‑effectiveness.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in product design and development processes.
• Review and approve technical drawings, including structural calculations and steel/aluminum welding specifications.
• Occasional travel may be required within North America (up to 1 or 2 times per year)
