Job summary

Gems Setra, part of Ralliant, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical architecture for precision HVAC sensors. You will design sensors for pressure, flow, temperature, humidity and air quality, and ensure robust performance in harsh environments.

Collaborate with Electrical and Firmware teams, lead testing and qualification, and drive cost-reduction initiatives while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo and GD&T.
• Experience in sensor design for HVAC/environmental monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical architecture and design of precision sensors for HVAC and environmental monitoring.
• Develop mechanical components, CAD models, drawings, and tolerances for manufacturability.
• Lead prototyping, environmental qualification, and reliability testing.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Test, and Manufacturing teams on integration.
• Drive DFMEA, cost reduction, and design improvements across the lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring for NPI and sustaining engineering.
