AECOM is seeking a mid-career Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary design team for power generation projects across the United States, including stellarator-related initiatives.

The role emphasizes development of mechanical equipment and piping specifications, hydraulic and pipe stress calculations, and coordination with designers to deliver drawings and documents that meet industry standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in industrial or power generation projects.
• EIT Certification with the ability to license as a PE within 1 year.
• Preferred: Professional Engineering licensure.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical equipment and piping specifications.
• Produce hydraulic modeling, pipe stress calculations, and sizing.
• Coordinate with the mechanical design team to prepare drawings.
• Lead multi-discipline design efforts and reviews.
• Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies and contractors.
• Prepare project specifications and contract documents.
• Check work prepared by peers and ensure industry standards are met.
