Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. in Aiken County is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for PSR/LTR Plant to design, install and improve machines for safety, quality and efficiency. You will support maintenance and lead projects from concept through FAT, commissioning and operation.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in an industrial environment, strong project management, and experience with AutoCAD and Inventor. Collaboration with vendors and internal customers is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in an industrial environment
• Strong project management skills
• Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor software packages
• 3D modeling experience
• Solid background and understanding in machine design
• Strong fundamental knowledge of hydraulic & conveying systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Responsible for mechanical expertise in single/multiple areas of the plant.
• Lead continuous improvement and corrective action activities & projects.
• Provide technical support to internal customers.
• Project management such as new machine installations, upgrades, etc.
• Analyze project requirements, identify, and address design parameter and engineering challenges to ensure solutions are implemented accurately, timely and within budget.
• Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure on-time delivery of projects, meeting quality standards and within budget.
• Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed and implemented.
• Mechanical lead on projects through all phases to include design, fabrication, implementation, testing (FAT), commissioning, and daily operation.
