Job summary

You will develop equipment layouts, piping drawings, and cost estimates while working with a team across Ramboll offices. The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, a PE license, 10+ years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of relevant codes and piping systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or greater.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with focus on industrial process piping and plant equipment layout.
• Experience with chemical, power, or industrial mechanical equipment and across mechanical discipline.
• Knowledge of ASME, SMACNA, NFPA, API, and building codes for duct, piping, tanks, and pressure vessels; insulation.
• Experience with ASME B31.3 piping codes and B&PVC code; piping stress analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop equipment arrangements and piping drawings for new and retrofit plant processes.
• Develop specifications for piping and mechanical equipment.
• Create conceptual designs and cost estimates for early project stages.
• Perform code studies and piping flexibility analysis.
• Design and specify process and utility piping supports.
• Apply ASME B31.1/B31.3 and B&PVC in design tasks.
• Develop P&IDs, size utility equipment, and specify equipment.
• Coordinate with client, project manager, and other disciplines to ensure cohesive design.
• Visit job sites as required for retrofit projects.
