Job summary

Ramboll US Corporation in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on HVAC design for chemical, power, and industrial facilities. You will join a collaborative team to develop innovative, technically sound designs and produce construction drawings using Revit and related tools.

We value deep experience, a PE license, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary groups while traveling less than 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or greater.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering and design of HVAC systems.
• Experience designing large-scale hydronic systems.
• Working knowledge of fire protection requirements for industrial facilities, including the IFC, NFPA standards and FM Global guidelines.
• Desire to work in chemical, power, and industrial market segment.
• Desire and ability to work at industrial facilities gathering data for designs (expect <10% travel).
• Detail oriented individual.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit is preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC systems for industrial facilities.
• Develop conceptual designs, cost estimates, equipment specifications, and detailed construction documents using Revit and other engineering tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated mechanical designs and high-quality construction drawings.
• Perform energy assessments, building modeling, and analysis to identify and quantify energy conservation and cost-saving opportunities.
• Design building ventilation, plumbing, and utility piping systems while preparing clear technical reports and client presentations.
• Conduct site visits as needed and uphold company standards for project execution, safety, health, and environmental compliance.
