Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) in Morrisville, NC to design mechanical systems, produce drawings, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will develop specifications, perform engineering calculations for HVAC, hydronic, and piping systems, and ensure compliance with codes and standards while coordinating with engineers, designers, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Active PE license required.
• Experience with HVAC, hydronic, piping, and mechanical equipment systems.
• Experience with CAD and mechanical modeling software.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and design practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the design of HVAC distribution, piping layouts, and equipment selection.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and design practices.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and participate in site visits.
• Utilize CAD and modeling software to develop 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to coordinate designs.
