Job summary

Corbin Consulting Engineers in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with PE to join a multi-discipline team delivering complex facility and process system designs for advanced technology and industrial clients.

You will design mechanical, HVAC, piping, and utility systems, coordinate with other disciplines, participate in design reviews, and prepare P&IDs, specs, and operation sequences, while supporting construction through site visits and RFIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 7 years of experience with A/E consulting.
• PE registration preferred.
• Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical and process systems for facilities, including HVAC, piping, and tool installation packages.
• Coordinate with design team members across disciplines.
• Participate in client design review meetings and present design strategies.
• Prepare P&ID drawings, construction specifications, sequences of operations, testing documents and reports.
• Provide services during construction, including field verification and RFIs.

Summary: We are seeking a senior mechanical engineer for our Hillsboro office who will work with a competent multi-discipline team of peers with a wide range of experience levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Design for mechanical and process systems ranging from simple to complex. Types of design can include mechanical facility upgrades for semiconductor manufacturing plants, process piping, exhaust, hydronic systems, facility HVAC, and tool installation packages.
• Coordination with design team members, both in mechanical/process and other disciplines.
• Participation in client design review meetings and presentation of design strategies.
• Preparation of P&ID drawings for various systems, construction specifications, sequence of operations, testing documents, and engineering reports.
• Services during construction, including field verification, site observation reports, responses to RFIs, and submittal reviews.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Understanding of basic building code requirements.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 7 years of experience working for an architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting firm.
• Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients is preferred.
• PE registration is preferred.
