Job summary

Weber Blackstone in Palatine, IL is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer focused on New Product Development to design, develop, and integrate mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems for outdoor cooking products.

You'll work with a global cross‑functional team to translate requirements into actionable specifications, create CAD models in SolidWorks, run tests, and support prototypes in a hybrid in‑office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with design and development of mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD projects from concept to completion.
• Create and refine designs using CAD for sub-systems.
• Ensure products meet performance specs and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams across Quality, Manufacturing, Product, Sales, Sourcing and Suppliers.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
• Support prototype creation and testing, with hands‑on validation.
• Perform DFMEA, DVP&R, and PPAP activities.
