Job summary

RTX in Massachusetts seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Team in Tewksbury/Andover. Design, document, and integrate defense system components; act as technical focal point on IPTs; support production and supplier locations.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years (or advanced degree with 3+ years); CAD experience (Creo, Windchill); strong collaboration; travel up to 10%. On-site role with relocation benefits available.

Qualifications

• STEM degree required; 5+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
• Experience across full product lifecycle from concept to production and support.
• Experience with mechanical design, materials, manufacturing, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and integrate components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense systems.
• Serve as technical focal point on small mechanical or cross-functional IPTs.
• Support product integration efforts at domestic and international factory and supplier locations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and develop design solutions.
• Independently manage tasks to meet schedule, budget, and technical goals.
• Participate in design reviews and conduct trade studies for informed decisions.
• Apply mechanical problem-solving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
