Job summary

Premier Staffing Solution, LLC is assisting a client in Corning, NY to locate an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a 1-year onsite contract. The role involves hands-on build, install, startup and debug of process equipment used in glass manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on practical problem solving.

The ideal candidate has a BS in mechanical fields, 7+ years of equipment design experience, and proficiency with SolidWorks and basic FEA. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Mechanical Technology.
• 7+ years of mechanical equipment design experience.
• Proficient with SolidWorks.
• Experience with design, install, start-up and debug of manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to manage mechanical and electrical trades during install and debug.
• Knowledge of machine guarding and OSHA safety practices.
• Strong written and oral communication; able to collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with project team to understand design requirements.
• Independently develop approaches to solutions.
• Responsible for installation and debug at factory site.
• Provide hands-on input for equipment installation and troubleshooting.
• Verify equipment build and layout against drawings.
• Coordinate installation plan with safety and plant receivers.
• Consult with engineers and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
