Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a prominent client in Corning, NY. This 100% onsite role offers a pay range of $50-$65/hr on a 1-year contract with potential for extension or conversion, and travel up to 25% to vendor or plant sites.

Responsibilities include detailed mechanical designs for handling and processing equipment, vendor management, and hands-on support during installation, startup and debugging of glass manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• 5-7+ years of mechanical equipment design experience.
• Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Competent with structural FEA analysis.
• Experience with design, install, start-up and debug of mechanical equipment for manufacturing.
• Knowledge of machine guarding and safety practices (OSHA).

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Corning, NY.

Pay Range: $50 - 65/hr depending on experience
Contract: 1 year with potential to extend and/or convert
100% onsite (non-local candidates must be willing to relocate at own expense)
Travel Requirements: Domestic travel up to 25% to vendor or plant sites
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 40 hours with overtime as required

Job Description

• Responsible for providing detailed mechanical designs of handling and process equipment.
• Responsible for all aspects of the design, build and debug of equipment including vendor management.
• Provide hands-on mechanical support for the installation, start-up and debug glass manufacturing process equipment.
• Work closely with internal project team to understand design requirements.
• Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
• Verify equipment build and layout against drawings.
• Coordinate installation plan with safety and plant receivers.
• Confer with Corning engineers and vendors to resolve equipment install or build discrepancies.
