Job summary

Panthalassa is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for our Portland, Oregon office. You will lead the mechanical design of the Node, oversee its structural hull, and drive the team through cradle-to-grave development—from concept through fabrication and deployment at sea.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with manufacturing, and deliver high-quality design work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on ultra-low-cost renewable energy for offshore applications.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical-related field.
• 10+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience.
• 5+ years in large-scale welded steel structures.

Responsibilities

• Own Node structural design from concept to deployment.
• Lead and mentor the mechanical team.
• Perform design reviews with internal and external partners.
• Ensure cost and performance targets in collaboration with Manufacturing.
