Job summary

Spencer Ogden seeks a Mechanical Responsible Engineer for a portfolio of nuclear projects in Pittsburgh, primarily onsite at power facilities with some project-based flexibility. You will lead engineering, planning, procurement, construction, turnover, and closeout activities across the full lifecycle.

The role requires 5–15 years of nuclear experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to interface with owners, vendors, and contractors.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree, preferably Mechanical.
• 5–15 years of nuclear industry experience.
• Experience in nuclear power, facilities, or DOE projects.
• Cradle-to-grave project experience from definition to closeout.
• At least 6 years in project management or coordination.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and reviewing drawings.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work primarily onsite in a nuclear environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope statements and coordinate with sponsors and stakeholders.
• Support budgets, engineering estimates, and preliminary schedules.
• Act as technical interface among owner, engineering, vendors, and contractors.
• Review drawings, calculations, specifications, and BOMs.
• Support EC development, review, processing, and installation coordination.
• Coordinate FAT reviews and travel to vendor locations as needed.
• Provide onsite field engineering and construction support.
• Coordinate turnover and closeout activities, records updates, and documentation.
