Job summary

Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC in Ballston Spa, NY seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support design, maintenance programs and optimization of mechanical systems essential to Navy training operations. You will collaborate with on-site craft, service subcontractors and project managers to address diverse challenges and support construction and ongoing site operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a technical field with 9+ years of experience (or higher degrees with fewer years) and familiarity

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or science field with 9+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 7+ years, or Doctorate with 3+ years.
Preferred skills include engineering design, troubleshooting or repair, knowledge of NY State Mechanical Code and ASHRAE fundamentals, and ability to develop docs and review drawings.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise on mechanical building systems such as HVAC, pressure systems, plumbing, and radiological ventilation.
Plan, design, and oversee maintenance and alteration of system equipment and facilities.
Troubleshoot issues, develop specifications, and provide engineering solutions.
Support project scoping, design reviews, construction oversight, and commissioning.
Manage facility equipment operations, maintenance, repair and construction activities.
Evaluate current systems and propose reliability improvements.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Facility Operations, Security and external vendors.
