Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Power Systems division in Franklin, TN. You will design and integrate Medium Voltage switchgear, using Creo and related CAD tools to yield robust concepts for new products.

The role requires leading complex architectures, performing mechanical analyses, and managing verification, validation, and BOM documentation, with some travel to labs and manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of product development experience; less with advanced degree.
• Design experience with Medium Voltage switchgear; CAD proficiency.
• Proven ability to develop analytical models and drawings.
• Experience with formal new product development processes (e.g., PMP).
• Ability to prepare BOMs, drawings and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and integration of MV air and gas insulated switchgear.
• Use CAD Creo to develop multiple concept options.
• Investigate and develop complex switchgear architectures.
• Perform mechanical analysis of mechanisms (tolerance, stress).
• Lead verification & validation in laboratories and report results.
• Create and maintain engineering records and BOMs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and quality for optimization.
• Mentor team members and support OCP processes.
