About the Role
JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
- Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.
- Assists in the review of mechanical and electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects.
- Learns to develop the mechanical and electrical scopes of work used to coordinate during the bid process.
- Assists in the completion of bid analysis and provides input during the subcontractor selection process.
- Assists in developing sequencing requirements of various systems and providing solutions to meet schedule requirements.
- Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality problems and assist in developing constructability review reports.
- Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner.
- Learns and assists with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with the contract documents.
- Assists with the commissioning process including developing pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures, and actual functional testing.
- Leads, supports, and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn, understanding and implementing the company's non-discrimination policy.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core
- Completes increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Develops budgetary M/E estimates, reviews options, completes systems analysis, recommends the best system, and provides value engineering suggestions.
- Coordinates the mechanical and electrical scopes during the bid process and develops sequencing requirements.
- Reviews design documents, identifies potential quality issues, and helps develop quality control programs.
- Performs job inspections and develops pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures.
- Reviews and approves shop drawings, generates and issues the Commissioning Plan, and verifies deficiencies are corrected.
- Provides mentoring to less experienced colleagues and creates innovative solutions to improve processes.
- Supports and promotes diversity and inclusion policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and understanding of plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Develops proficiency in JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
- Knowledge of construction management methods and ability to collaborate effectively.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
