JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

ME Engineer Family - Core

  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection process.
  • Assists in developing sequencing requirements for various systems to meet schedule requirements.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  • Learns to perform job inspections ensuring specifications and expectations are met, and work is completed timely and in quality.
  • Supports shop drawing/submittal process in compliance with contract documents.
  • Assists with commissioning, including developing pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures.
  • Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policy.
Additional Responsibilities

In addition, this position will:

  • Complete more complex mechanical, electrical, and construction activities.
  • Develop and review budget estimates, systems analysis, and value engineering suggestions.
  • Coordinate scopes of work during bidding and develop sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  • Review design documents for quality issues and develop quality control programs.
  • Develop and verify functional testing procedures and commissioning documentation.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and create innovative tools for process improvement.
  • Continue to promote diversity and inclusion policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and understanding of plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction management methods.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
  • 5+ years construction/engineering experience preferred.
Working Environment & Benefits
  • Valid driver's license required.
