Bala Consulting Engineers is a growing engineering firm specializing in mission-critical facilities. We seek a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical designs for data centers and related critical systems in select offices nationwide.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in data center infrastructure, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and strong code knowledge. PE preferred, EIT required, LEED preferred. Revit and MS Office skills are essential for design and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Lead mechanical engineer on Mission Critical projects (Data Centers).
• 10+ years designing Data Center infrastructure.
• Background in Data Center/critical systems infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes.
• PE preferred; EIT required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficient with Revit; at least 1 year in formal design use.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations and design mechanical systems for projects.
• Perform on-site surveys of existing mechanical equipment.
• Review schedules and details with project engineer.
• Attend job meetings as required.
• Ensure flow of information between disciplines.
• Assist in reports and feasibility studies.
• Support development of mechanical standards.
• Prepare cost estimates and specifications.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work in select offices to lead our Mission Critical mechanical designs for our clients nationally. The candidate should view this as a high opportunity position with tremendous growth potential.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare calculations and design building mechanical systems.
• Perform on-site surveys of existing mechanical equipment.
• Determine schedules and details required for the project. Review with project engineer.
• Attend job meetings as required.
• Ensure flow of information between disciplines.
• Assist in writing reports and feasibility studies.
• Support developing mechanical standards.
• Prepare cost estimates and specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Serve as a lead mechanical engineer on select projects in the Mission Critical Sector. Project types include Data Center new builds, renovations, fit-outs and critical system’s infrastructure upgrades.
• 10+ years of experience in designing Data Center infrastructure.
• Background in Data Center / critical systems infrastructure is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Robust knowledge of applicable codes.
• PE Preferred. EIT certification required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year of experience of formal design use.
• Microsoft Office experience.
