Job summary

Brunel has a long-term contract opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer supporting a leading global mining and metals company. You will provide technical guidance across large, complex mechanical projects in mining environments.

The role emphasizes applying engineering principles, reviewing and approving deliverables, leading mechanical efforts, and interfacing with site management on safety and regulatory practices. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and eight (8) years discipline related engineering experience OR
• Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and five (5) years discipline related engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and guidance for all phases of assigned large/complex mechanical engineering projects and programs, ensuring timely and cost-effective conclusions.
• Review, interpret, comment and approve mechanical engineering deliverables; review reports and provide recommendations to site team and project consultants.
• Lead mechanical efforts on large/complex mineral processing projects, including development or modification of systems and processes; approve work from other disciplines.
• Manage projects and serve as a mechanical SME on large/complex projects; oversee the mechanical discipline of an engineering consultant, construction planning and supervision.
• Provide guidance to site management on applicable processes, practices, and local, state and federal regulations; contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting.
• Develop/review scopes of work, evaluate proposals, and draft internal funding requests; evaluate/ administer contracts with vendors as required.
• May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
