Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design, install, and optimize machinery used in aggregate processing. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage capital projects, and ensure safe, compliant operations across plants in Arizona and New Mexico.

The role requires hands-on engineering, project management, and strong CAD skills with AutoCAD/SolidWorks. A PE license is preferred and travel is expected to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, including heavy industrial and mining projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in AZ preferred; valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)

Responsibilities

• Design, modify mechanical systems for aggregate plants and components.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, vendors and contractors on projects.
• Ensure safety, health and environmental compliance per MSHA and company standards.
