What You’ll Do
  • Manage Design – Create 3D models and 2D blueprints using CAD or BIM software (like AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks, etc.), detail joints and connections, and determine the exact size of beams, columns, and foundations.
  • Inspect – Provide field supervision/inspection services on construction projects and perform post‑project reviews to ensure key objectives, cost/performance improvements, and rates of return are achieved.
  • Prepare Bid Packages – Prepare bid packages for construction and manage construction contracts.
  • Provide Updates – Deliver project updates on a regular frequency to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Represent the Company – Represent the company to industry associations, government officials, and public agencies.
  • Additional Responsibilities – Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel – Varies based on projects up to 20%.

Skills You’ll Need
  • Safety‑Oriented – Set a safety tone for all activities and uphold the highest standards for protecting people and the environment.
  • Education – BS degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. Other engineering degrees considered with substantial civil/mechanical/project experience.
  • License – PE license is preferred; candidates pursuing a PE license will be strongly considered.
  • Experience – 7+ years of design experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong familiarity with project management and engineering software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience using drafting software to produce detailed plans, models, and blueprints for industrial projects (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Experience supporting projects from concept to completion. Knowledge of concrete and steel design, building codes, and construction practices is desired.
  • Leadership Skills – Act decisively and support all aspects of the company to work together to accomplish objectives, vision, mission, and values. Trust people to do their jobs and develop innovative solutions to problems.
  • Organizational Skills – Identify and define clear short‑term goals and work outcomes required to implement strategic goals.
  • Problem Solving – Proven ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Detail‑oriented – Follow through with commitments, solve problems in a timely fashion, and ask investigative questions to fully understand components and root causes.
  • Analytical Skills – Verify assumptions or interpretations by checking with credible sources or through first‑hand observation and data‑gathering.
  • Computer Skills – Advanced computer skills, including spreadsheets and the Microsoft Office Suite, are required.
  • Interpersonal Communication – Possess strong interpersonal skills and be extremely resourceful. Communicate clearly, listen carefully, and maintain open, candid, consistent dialogue.
  • High Integrity – Act with unyielding integrity and honesty in business transactions, promote company policies, and hold self and others accountable.
  • Ownership – Take full ownership to address and correct issues within the assigned project.
