Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 7+ years in precision mechanical design, preferably robotics or medical devices.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and optical systems.
• Experience with robotics, kinematic analysis, and motion planning.
• Familiarity with opto-mechanical integration and ray tracing concepts.
• Ability to drive tasks from concept through prototyping independently.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select collaborative robots considering reach, payload, joints, and safety around patients.
• Determine robotic mounting configurations and workspace layout while ensuring patient comfort.
• Design and integrate the imaging head for multiple imagers and illumination.
• Perform optical projections and FOV analysis for imaging on curved skin surfaces.
• Collaborate on custom imager head design with external contractors if needed.
• Support path planning constraints and document mechanical limits for software integration.
• Contribute to design documentation and regulatory readiness.
