Job summary

Burca Elevator & Metal Works Inc. in Florida seeks a Florida-licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join the team in a senior leadership role, blending engineering oversight with hands-on operational management across fabrication, installation, and project execution.

You will review drawings, manage licensing and permits, lead manufacturing and field installations, drive productivity and quality, and mentor engineers and supervisors while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Active Florida PE license in good standing required.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, production, construction, or industrial operations.
• Previous supervisory or management experience overseeing production or field operations.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, materials, tolerances, and mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, calculations, and fabrication documents for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Manage license applications, registrations, renewals, and project permits.
• Sign and certify permit applications and technical submissions.
• Respond to plan-review comments and track approvals, inspections, and permit closeout.
• Direct daily manufacturing, fabrication, and production operations across metalworking, welding, carpentry, and cab/manufacturing.
• Develop production schedules based on deadlines, material availability, staffing, and installation needs.
• Coordinate personnel, equipment, tools, and materials across departments.
• Monitor productivity, labor efficiency, quality, and on-time completion.
• Resolve production bottlenecks and implement improvements to reduce waste and delays.
• Lead field installation operations and ensure readiness of drawings, permits, materials, equipment, and site requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve field installation issues; monitor installation quality and safety.
