Job summary

Lutron Electronics is hiring multiple immediate openings for Mechanical Engineers across several locations, including Austin, TX, Boston, MA, and Coopersburg, PA. The role focuses on designing mechanical components, creating CAD models, performing analyses, and driving continuous improvement across product life cycles.

Ideal candidates will have a relevant engineering degree, 4+ years of design experience, and hands-on experience with manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Science.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 across all degrees.
• Minimum design experience: 4 years with Bachelor's or 2 years with Master's.
• Experience with 3D CAD in product development.
• Knowledge of statics and material properties.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, tools, and fixtures for performance and manufacturability.
• Create 3D CAD models and engineering documentation for products and design changes.
• Perform FEA, tolerance analyses, DFM, and FMEA to validate designs.
• Identify and implement product improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
• Prototype designs using 3D printing, machine shops, and supplier resources.
• Build and test prototypes to evaluate performance and improve solutions.
• Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback into product designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products.
• Source, qualify, and support production tooling and manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing, supplier, and customer issues using root cause analysis.
• Uphold quality standards, customer focus, and continuous improvement initiatives.
