Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineering Leader in Boston, MA. You will mentor engineers, oversee scalable systems, and drive product improvements across the lifecycle from concept to production in a world leader in automated lighting and shades.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in mechanical design, strong fundamentals, and the ability to collaborate with manufacturing teams while staying current with new technologies. Travel ~10% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of industry experience in mechanical product design.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including molding, stamping, forming, extrusion, machining.
• Willingness to travel ~10% of the time.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering of efficient, scalable, high-quality systems for world-class products.
• Integrate design aesthetics, function, UI, manufacturability and lifecycle.
• Mentor and coach engineers to improve team effectiveness and performance.
• Lead by example and collaborate across manufacturing facilities and locations.
• Identify cost reduction and product improvement opportunities.
• Utilize 3D modeling, FEA, tolerance analysis, DFM, FMEA to meet goals.
