Job summary

Det-Tronics, a global leader in life safety, seeks a Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering in Minneapolis to lead the hardware team responsible for electrical and mechanical development of fire and gas detection products. You will drive the hardware technology roadmap, ensure quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and manufacturability while delivering robust, reliable solutions.

You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, support certification efforts, and collaborate across systems,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of product development engineering in electromechanical products.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership.
• Experience leading hardware development from concept through launch.
• Experience in regulated or safety-critical industries.
• Strong understanding of design, verification, validation, lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of mechanical and electrical engineers.
• Recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent.
• Set goals, performance expectations, and career plans for staff.
• Promote engagement and provide coaching for growth.
• Lead hardware development for new product introductions and sustaining projects.
• Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Drive stage-gate/design control processes with robust documentation.
