Job summary

MKS Instruments seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design, modeling, and packaging of advanced electro-mechanical systems across multiple product families. You will drive prototypes, testing, and qualification to deliver reliable, manufacturable solutions.

You will work with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and product management, communicating effectively to meet performance, cost, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with tradeoffs between cost, performance, and schedule.
• Expert SolidWorks proficiency and PLM systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, modeling, testing, and packaging of complex electro-mechanical components and systems.
• Develop cost-effective, manufacturable designs and oversee prototypes and testing.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and tolerance analyses.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for design/manufacturing issues.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and product management.
• Analyze thermal/structural performance using FEA and ensure design compliance.
